What is the maximum file upload size for WordPress?

The default file upload size is 256 megabytes for all shared and reseller web hosting servers. In some cases, we can increase that limit. Contact us for details.

If you have a VPS or Dedicated server we have seen WordPress upload limits as high as 512 megabytes. After about 250-350 megabytes, the system starts to become unreliable. Meaning, it may fail from time to time in the upload process with files over 250 megabytes.
