On September 1, 2021 Verisign, the .COM registry, will most likely raise the annual price for new .COM registrations for all registrars. We, in turn, must raise our .COM pricing as well to match the difference. In addition to this year's price increase, Verisign has the right to increase .COM domain fees by up to 7% in 2022 and 2023, as well in 2026 to 2029. The domain industry could face further .COM price increases in the upcoming years, making early renewals attractive - particularly if securing domains for multiple years.
We simply add the exact increased difference in price to .com registration and renewal that they add to us. There is no extra fees. They have not said the amount they will raise .com domains yet in September and there is a small chance they do not raise prices at all. If you register or renew before September 1st, you will not be effected by the possible price increase until you renew again. The most they have ever increased is $1 per year, but they could technically increase .com domains up to $2.14 per year. Our guess is that they will increase about $1 again this year and about $2-3 more on top of that over the next ten years.
